Establishing a Reference Dose Response Relationship for Carcinogenicity of Five Cobalts Salts

چکیده
At the 22 meeting of the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) in September 2012, the ECHA Secretariat presented a proposal to set DNELs and dose response relationships for substances prior to receiving applications for authorisation (AfAs). This was approved by RAC as a trial exercise. However, in early 2015, ECHA agreed to continue supporting the practice for Annex XIV substances, recognizing its value to the Authorisation process and its efficiency.

Hazard identification and dose response of inhaled nickel-soluble salts.
A substantial body of occupational epidemiology data has shown that exposure to mixed soluble and insoluble nickel causes the development of lung and nasal cancer. However, due to coexposure of these populations to soluble and insoluble forms of nickel, and limitations in exposure measurements, the contribution of soluble nickel is difficult to determine. Soluble nickel was negative in an NTP i...
متن کاملThe carcinogenicity of chromium
The carcinogenicity of chromium compounds is reviewed with specific attention to the gaps in knowledge for risk estimation and research needs. The most important problems at present are whether trivalent chromium compounds cause cancer, and whether there is a difference in cancer causing effects between the soluble and the slightly soluble hexavalent compounds in the practical exposure situatio...
متن کاملSome steps towards establishing a tertiary standard dosimetry laboratory at a radiotherapy department
Background: In order to deliver the precise dose to the target in radiotherapy, absorbed dose to water at the reference point should be assessed. When the calibration procedure is performed for a reference dosimeter in the 60Co beam of a Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL), the total uncertainty in absorbed dose to water (Dw) is estimated to be approximately 1.5%. This study attempts...
متن کاملAssessment and evaluation of patient doses in adult common CT examinations towards establishing national diagnostic reference levels
Background: Patient radiation doses from computed tomography (CT) are increasing due to the number of CT examinations performed every day. The aim of this study was assess and evaluate patient radiation doses for adult’s common CT examinations to derive local diagnostic guidance levels for common CT examinations. Materials and Methods: Volume and weighted computed tomography dose index (C...
متن کاملLocal-Reference Patient Dose Evaluation in Conventional Radiography Examinations in Mazandaran, Iran
Background:The most efficient application of ionizing radiation is serving medical purposes and using this radiation has caused people to learn that artificial sources of radiation exposure among these resources can be of highest exposure rate. Â Objective: The present study is aimed at initially establishing a baseline for local-reference dose level in Mazandaran, Iran in 12 projections of the...
